Monique + Rob’s Royal Botanical Gardens Wedding

The day had finally come and we woke up bright and early and headed over to Burlington to shoot this much anticipated wedding. We were a bit worried about the weather… but as the day went on…the clouds parted and it was nothing but pure sunshine for these two.

A few months back we had shot Monique and Rob’s cherry blossom engagement shoot. Right off the bat, we knew that these two would be tremendous fun and that the photos would come out remarkable. Remarkable does not do this wedding justice. Monique’s gorgeous lace vintage-inspired gown was breath-taking…. our jaws litterally dropped when we saw her. Her beautiful hair was mastered into a beautiful loose braid that resembled a very natural and eve in the garden look. The wedding had one re-occurring theme for us…. unity. The outdoor tented ceremony took place in the Royal Botanical Gardens. It was a full house. People stood in the back. All of them, very close friends and family came to see the union of these two loving people. At one point during the ceremony, the officiant asked everyone in the tent to stand and asked if they were in favor of the marriage of Monique of Rob. Everyone chimed cheerfully, “We do.” It was beautiful and one of our favorite memories from any wedding we have shot to date.

Enough jabbering on… we will let the pictures do the talking. Here are some of our favorites.

we love this photo above. A brief quiet moment of pause before the dress goes on…

Proud and very dapper father of the bride.

This one shot gives us butterflies. We raced down to catch the bride before she departed the hotel for the ceremony. Solitude and deep in thought. Absolutely stunning bride…

Meanwhile…

The Groom and his entourage were as happy as clams waiting for the arrival of monique.

See Monique… no need to worry about being late. All is good.:)

Take a look at those awesome heels!!

As the bride makes her walk towards the ceremony site..

the groom awaits his bride nervously….

The moment when the family and friends stood to give their blessing to the marriage of the bride and groom…

The brides sister and maid of honor as she looked on proudly as the groom and bride read their vows to each other

The mother and father of the bride watched on as tears swelled during the very emotional ceremony

A very proud father of the groom

Absolutely adored that the ring pouch had Monique’s initial on it.

And the first kiss as husband and wife….

Photo break time! Pizza snacks makes monique happy 😛

And of coarse…

the groomsmen freaking out over the grooms new bling

“Hampster hands” run in the family

Okay… and we saved the tear jerker for last…

The tear in the brides eye during the first dance is epic.

We wish these two the most happiness in the entire world. And we are very certain that everyone who was there on their special day wishes them the same. The pictures prove it.

Monique & Rob’s Cherry Blossom Engagement Shoot

Cherry Blossoms (also known as Sakura Trees) in High Park are kind of a big deal. High Park was gifted with its first cherry blossoms back in 1959 by the citizens of Tokyo. When the tree’s blossom, their beauty only lasts one week and they disappear for the year. As you could imagine, the crowds on this day were insanity and the traffic even worse. High Park was full of activity and fellow photographers were out capturing the moment as well. We are SO excited to shoot Monique and Rob’s wedding in June! Its going to be beautiful and the venue they picked couldn’t have been more fitted – The Royal Botanical Gardens! We met Monique back when we did some head shots for her business. They both wanted a cherry blossom engagement shoot and they waited very patiently as the tree’s blossomed a little later than usual. During the shoot these two were so full of energy and willing to climb tree’s to get that perfect shot. You can tell by the photo’s how in love these two are and we cant wait for the big day!!

My private collection….

Before I started photographing people, I had a huge interest in travel and urban photography. My previous site focussed primarily on displaying those images and my new transition into photographing people has transformed my current site into what it is today. Due to popular demand, I am adding some of my favourite images that I have taken throughout my travels in Africa, Europe, Peru, etc and some urban pictures from Toronto. I hope you enjoy my personal collection and please contact me if you are interested in any of these pictures.
